We recently released a limited capsule collection with prolific London-based artist Slawn where his inimitable style looks as at home on boards and tees as it does on the streets…
Slawn turned the Slam shop into his studio for the day to create the drawings that built the collab
Slawn moved to London from Nigeria back in 2018 and manifested his trajectory as an artist, one that is still rocketing skyward as his fame and popularity continue to grow. Slawn is a loyal customer of ours we’re proud to call our friend so we were beyond hyped when he agreed to work on some products for us. The capsule includes two incredible t-shirts and a board that is available in three sizes. This is a great opportunity to invest in a very limited piece of artwork from a unique creative who is unlikely to make something like this anytime soon…
Slawn designed these t-shirts featuring his instantly recognisable linework
Slawn’s abstract style works within whatever parameters he’s presented with and we are excited to see it on the rails and the board wall. He began painting during lockdown and hasn’t looked back since as his well-received hobby has become so much more, garnering critical acclaim and putting his work in front of more people than he could have imagined. We are pleased to have played a full circle moment in his evolution. It’s fitting that his debut exhibition took place at The Truman Brewery, and five years later his handstyle adorns our windows…
The priority with this collection was for Slawn to design a board, as his skateboarding roots are what opened the gates of his trajectory, beginning with a mentorship of sorts at the Wafflesncream skate shop in Nigeria when he was just fifteen. He still recognises the power of community and the integral role skate shops play in that, which is why we’re proud to have his work on the wall…
Slawn’s illustrations taking over the entire board wall
We want to thank Slawn for working on this memorable collaboration with us, and we look forward to seeing his work celebrated elsewhere very soon. You can shop the collection HERE. Follow Slawn on Instagram for further updates on his activity.
