Emerica x Slam City Laced

Posted on

We are proud to announce our new Emerica Laced shoe which is available exclusively from Slam. Here is a video with some background about this collaboration and further images…

The video features Emerica team rider Tom Knox shredding the streets of London as he does on the regular, reminding us once again that he is one of the best to ever do it. Slam illustrator Arran Gregory is also featured, he discusses the design aspects and inspiration for the job he worked on creating the elements which tie this whole project together. The bear Arran designed for us appears on one of the insoles to represent Slam City Skates and London, the opposite insole hosts an image of King Kong to represent America and Emerica. This Transatlantic team-up is further explored by Arran’s work on the box which incorporates his illustrations of Big Ben and the Empire State Building. Here is a better look at the shoes.

The shoe features an all suede upper with a canvas side panel aboard a contrasting white vulcanised sole with black piping. Slam City embroidery adorns the canvas in the same striking orange as the laces. They have a teal tongue tab featuring the Slam rat which is a recurrent theme synonymous with the shop. This same teal accent appears to even things up on the Emerica logo on the heel…

The simple silhouette of the Laced coupled with their grippy sole unit makes for a perfect skateboarding shoe. We were stoked to work closely with Emerica on this one, it’s been a pleasure. These shoes are now available online and in our Covent Garden shop. If you visit us in person you also get to check out the Emerica x Altamont shop in our basement which is where Arran was filmed talking about his work…
