Jacob Harris and Rory Milanes for HUF x Slam City
We have been working closely with HUF on the capsule collection we released today. This video sees Slam and HUF team riders Jacob Harris and Rory Milanes taking to the streets and putting our exclusive Soto through its paces. Mark Jackson filmed and edited the video and Kit Macarthur took care of the music. In 2007 Slam City Skates became the first UK stockists of Keith Hufnagel’s brand, so when the opportunity arose to collaborate with Keith and his team on our own shoe we jumped at the chance…
When it came to picking which HUF model to work with, first and foremost we wanted to make something that had clean, classic looks but we didn’t want to sacrifice great skate performance. The Soto fitted the bill perfectly; it’s a supportive cup sole shoe that has the board feel of a vulc with clean sportswear styling…
We gave the shoe a premium upgrade by replacing the canvas panels with perforated suede and adding faux leather on the tongue, heel tab and ‘H’ logo. We worked on custom branding with HUF featuring Big Ben that is debossed in gold on the tongue, heel tab and insole.
London’s most famous timepiece also appears throughout the rest of the capsule collection…
