James Jarvis Gallery

Posted on

We were lucky enough to have James Jarvis join us a few weeks ago. We were celebrating the launch of the shoe collaboration he had worked on with Nike SB. He had turned his attention to the Free and designed two colourways. Instead of just having a regular launch we decided to do something different. James came and hung out with us during the day and painted a bench we had made so his work could have a lasting presence at our East London shop. We invited him to give a talk. In the evening he spoke about his work, it’s origins, his first work for Slam, philosophy, his love for skateboarding, the relationship between skateboarding and his work and much much more. Constrained by the size of the store we had limited spaces but were glad we could open it up for something like this to a few friends and family and a crew of Instagram competition winners. We all had beers and bagels and enjoyed hearing what James had to say. Here is a small gallery of pictures from the night shot by Maksim Kalanep
