It was a treat seeing such a well curated show at House Of Vans last night. With twenty years of history to draw from it didn’t disappoint and reinforced just how amazing the Chocolate legacy is. This gallery will give you an inkling of it’s scope but you really need to pay it a visit. Every wall was full of gems from the past and it seems that what is on display only just scratches the surface of their archives…
Having this many boards on display was the only way to do it, with so much thought behind each series it only works to see them in their entirety…
Chocolate boards always stood out on the board wall, this was like a skate shop time machine…
It was great seeing Evan Hecox artwork and personal notes on display, classic board graphics in sketch format and more…
We can’t imagine how stoked Slam team rider Rob Mathieson was when he saw two of his boards in this exhibition when he saw it in NYC…
Definitely take some time out and visit this show. It’s amazing seeing boards you rode, and series’ that you remember. I was snapping pictures of boards my friends had and sending them to them, it’s funny how a graphic can sometimes make you recall a whole Summer. I also reminisced about the beautiful tapered tails you could rely on Chocolate for and looked at a Paulo Diaz board in awe for quite a while. This gallery is in no way the whole show, there are plenty more surprises there to discover for yourself. The show runs until Thursday November the 13th.
