Nick Jensen in 31 Trellick Tower

Southbank is undeniably the nucleus for skateboarding in the city of London. Brutalist architecture is intertwined with our identity. It’s hard to imagine the south side of the river without it. It seems fitting that one of Southbank’s favourite sons, Slam team rider Nick Jensen appears in this short film which explores another Brutalist landmark. Trellick Tower looms over the skyline of Notting Hill and Westbourne Park. Not many people have explored Erno Goldfinger’s creation, it’s interesting getting a guided tour of sorts from Nick. The purpose of this video was to open up the building and make it more accessible through the bridging of two complementary cultures, skateboarding and architecture. It does well to celebrate Goldfinger’s vision.
