We just received more shoes from the selection Vans have been issuing to celebrate their 50th Anniversary. These four classic models span decades of relevance and were all one time shoes of choice for many of us here at Slam. These represent the evolution of shoe design which made them sought after footwear. As before all of these Pro shoes have been updated with the newest technology meaning they have Duracap reinforcement and an Ultracush sock liner. This is a glance at four new styles before they are released on the 7th October…

rowley710
Rowley Pro (50th) Black/Black

When the Rowley shoe came out it quickly cemented itself as a favourite for Vans team riders. Having skated in Vans for many years Rowley took the elements of shoes like the Old Skool and the Era and made them his own, updating the shoe at the time with more cushioning to meet his needs and making the build sturdier and more resilient. When this shoe came out our shop manager Chris Pulman wouldn’t skate in anything else. With the 2016 tech updates this shoe is better than it ever was and stands up design wise next to the other classic shoes in this pack.

chukka710
Chukka Pro (50th)’93 Bison/Black

Cut off jeans and a pair of Chukka’s was standard 1993 attire, this suede shoe was well loved and still looks great. It enjoyed a renaissance when it evolved in to the Chukka Low and became a favourite shoe for a new generation. This Bison brown colourway looks amazing with the black sole unit. Essential stuff right here.

halfcabinsta
Full Cab Pro (50th) ’89 Burgandy/Gray

This is the shoe which became the Half Cab. Some sharp scissors and gaffer tape could turn these into a pair too. Steve Caballero gifted us one of the best tricks and one of the best skate shoes at this time in history. Here’s some background about this phenomenon in this rad little interview. They look amazing in Burgundy and Grey in this pre op design.

oldskoolnew
Old Skool Pro (50th) ’92 White/Black

The Old Skool is one of the most copied and well loved shoes of all time. This template just works perfectly on a vulcanised sole and the simple silhouette is still jumped on by skateboarders worldwide. These stand up today especially with the Duracap and Ultracush updates. This cross section of shoes holds appeal for many different people and we are stoked on how all of these look. They will go on sale on the Saturday the 8th Of October. You can shop for all things Vans HERE
