House Of Vans Wear Test

Posted on

Yesterday we were invited to attend a wear test at the House Of Vans. It is the second one of these they have hosted and this time around it was on a bigger scale. Core stores country wide got the call as well as some others from Europe. It was a full house and great to see everyone as always. We were there to try out the Vans x Antihero collaboration, specifically the TNT 6G. There was a presentation about this new shoe where we enjoyed this video on the big screen…

We were shown a further video where Tony Trujillo’s endorsement of his new shoe was that “It doesn’t rip but it rips!”. SG stands for sixth generation, it is his sixth pro shoe with Vans and there is a Gibson reference in there too for good measure. There was an Antihero display with some classic images of John Cardiel

After the presentation in the cinema everybody was called out and let loose in the park. This was the shoe we were invited to try out…

This classic looking low top fuses the best bits of an Old Skool with a kind of modified Sk8-Hi front. It is all slimmed down compared to early TNT offerings and mounted on a vulc sole. These are snug fitting and cushioned thanks to Ortholite sockliners. Even though the Antihero presence is a full take over it still looks good on the canvas sidewalls. Seth Curtis took his pair for a spin over the door way…

What followed was a best trick jam with cash prizes and a dinner for everyone who came. We were stoked as always to be in attendance and the Vans hospitality and generosity was second to none. We are glad these events are continuing to happen and uniting our scene. We will be receiving the TNT SG and the rest of the Antihero collaboration very soon. Shop for Vans HERE
