Rumours began to ripple during the daytime on Wednesday that Dylan Rieder had passed away. It was with heavy hearts that we saw confirmation of this later that evening, followed by the Fucking Awesome tribute above. Due to complications relating to Leukemia Dylan passed away on Wednesday. Social media has since been humming with commiserations, photos and videos. This news and it’s reach proves how well loved he was and how many lives he touched. His skateboarding speaks for itself and his influence taught many to be themselves at all costs. We were blessed to have him pass through our doors. Our love goes out to all of his family and friends right now. Call your friends and family, give them a hug and don’t take anything for granted. Go skateboarding for Dylan, it’s what he loved to do…

Mind Field came out in 2009 and cemented Dylan Rieder as a favourite skateboarder choice for a new generation. Having a standout part with that kind of company isn’t an easy task but one he was up to, proving his unique appeal.

This Gravis part was one of the first HD edits. It followed his Alien part a year later. This demonstrated his unreal pop, timeless style and ability to skate anything. Coupled with Cass McCombs, Graham Nash and a shoe like no other before it make this one which is embedded in the memory banks.

In a world of dwindling attention spans, putting out something memorable is a hard task but Dylan did it once again with this ad for his HUF shoe. All of these videos above will stand the test of time, they are his gift to all of us. Dylan Rieder was a true original who will be sorely missed. Pour some out for him and seize the day.
